wow these are some pretty old places... how old is rt 66 exactly?
Tara, it depends on which alignment of Route 66 you happen to be on at the moment. Route 66 is no longer possible to drive uninterrupted, but it all started in 1926, "planners intended U.S. 66 to connect the main streets of rural and urban communities along its course for the most practical of reasons: most small towns had no prior access to a major national thoroughfare."
